Self Portrait in 108 Gestures is a series of cast glass objects that invites reflection on the gap between intention and impact. Rather than presenting my hands themselves, each piece records the space between them—a gesture made visible, captured using the lost wax casting process. There are 108 forms in the series, echoing the number traditionally used in Buddhist practice for meditation beads or prostrations. In this work, each gesture becomes a quiet act of attention, asking the viewer to consider how individual actions—however small—accumulate, impress, and shape the world. By shifting focus from the hand to its imprint, I hope to explore the subtle yet powerful ways our choices and relationships leave lasting marks—material, social, and unseen.
