Scottish Children’s Book Awards

In 2016, I was commissioned by the Scottish Book Trust to create the trophies for the Scottish Children’s Book Awards—a celebration honouring the authors and illustrators whose work inspires young readers across Scotland. The design was inspired by the open pages of a book, translated into glass through layers of fused and raked sheet glass. By using the chemically reactive properties of certain colours, I was able to create delicate lines and rich tonal contrasts—capturing the sense of movement and wonder that stories bring to life. Each trophy was unique, reflecting the individuality of the creators being celebrated.
